Dublin's Girl Band has shared a video for a recent performance of “Umbongo” in advance of the band’s return to North American stages this April. The performance was taped for the Irish show Other Voices, and showcases the band at their most intense and bracing. Girl Band will be recording a follow up to their acclaimed debut Holding Hands With Jamie for Rough Trade this summer in New York following their short run of east coast dates. Full itinerary below.
This marks their first US shows since early/mid 2016, which included dates in New York, Pitchfork Music Festival, and supporting Parquet Courts on the West Coast. The band’s live set has become a thing of legend, with their few short stints Stateside being lauded by NPR, SPIN, Stereogum, Consequence of Sound, and more.
