Saltland Streams New Album A Common Truth - Out Today On Constellation

Saltland, cellist and composer Rebecca Foon, is now streaming her new album A Common Truth in its entirety via Tiny Mix Tapes. TMT calls the album “superb,” saying “Expect to be overwhelmed.” A Common Truth is a remarkable song cycle, punctuated by ambient soundscapes, that reflects Foon’s complex web of emotions around the topic of climate change. The album exudes grace and power, demonstrating a striking ability to compose music that balances sonic heaviness with beautiful textures. The album’s instrumental tracks feature Warren Ellis (Nick Cave, Dirty Three). It is out tomorrow on Constellation.

Foon will be celebrating the release of A Common Truth at National Sawdust in Brooklyn on April 7th. Tickets and further information is available HERE.

DREAM WIFE Share "Somebody" Music Video via NPR Music

London-based and British/Icelandic born trio Dream Wife just made their triumphant stateside debut on tour with The Kills and at SXSW, which earned them praise from NPR, Entertainment Weekly, DIY and more. Today, the band share the music video for their anthemic, feminist battle cry "Somebody." Shot and directed by bassist Bella Podpadec's father John, "Somebody" is premiering now via NPR Music's "First Watch" - check out the video HERE.

With the video for “Somebody” we wanted to make something direct and simple. The song is a ballad about the experience of living with a female body, in respect of this subject matter we focused on capturing a truthful performance that was both elegant and stripped back. We drew inspiration from the male dominated iconography of 70s glam rock; a time where men were able to explore their femininity, with the video for Somebody we are playing off this subversion with our own exploration of contemporary femininity.
— Dream Wife on "Somebody" Video

The band has also garnered a well-deserved reputation for their exhilarating live shows, having sold out venues across UK/Europe, played festivals such as Iceland Airwaves, and toured with the likes of Sleigh Bells.
